Lenten Day Retreat for Women – “The Theology of Liturgy” – Saturday, March 28, 2020 – 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Sister+Hood invites all women to a day retreat with Fr. Martin Farrell, OP to prepare for a deeper experience of Holy Week. As everyone knows, Holy Week is that time in the Church’s year when, through her Liturgy, the Church celebrates those moments in His life when the Lord underwent the events which led to his crucifixion, death, and ultimately, Resurrection. The Liturgy is the privileged means by which we actually participate in those moments, not just one week out of the year, but every time we celebrate his Sacred Mysteries. Father will give us a basic understanding of the components of the Church’s Liturgy and its components, and will also entertain questions about the same.
Father Martin suggests that participants review the Liturgies of Holy Week found in missalettes and perhaps read The Spirit of the Liturgy (available at http://www.amazon.ca) which Pope Benedict XVI wrote while he was still Cardinal Ratzinger.
Includes Mass, on-site parking, three talks & delicious buffet luncheon. Beautiful hand-decorated ‘resurrected’ altar candles and rosary & rosary accessories available from Resurrection Candles. Dominican University College, 96 Empress Avenue, Ottawa (off Somerset). Cost: $40. Info: register by Mar. 21 (www.sisterhood.live/retreats) Karen (613-806-0377); (email@example.com)
